ali baba = yummy Middle Eastern

So unfortunately there will be no recipe to post tonight since Ryan and I decided to give a local Middle Eastern restaurant (Lebanese to be more specific) a second visit. The outcome is a ridiculously full belly (i wore my stretchy pants for a reason) and many ideas for new things to cook on our own :) We both had the falafel, hummus, shawirma (shaved lamb), jerusalem salad (fresh cucumber, tomato, green pepper, onion, and a glorious white sauce), and tabbouleh. We were probably quite the site to see trying different combinations of all of the above, stuffed into the home-made pita pockets. It's all so good that it doesn't matter if we're eating it all wrong! Of course we finished the meal with a pistachio baklava. I could seriously live on this stuff but then I'd have to have Ryan wheel me around and use the second door when getting me into and out of the house!

Perhaps this weekend will be our interpretation of some of our favorite foods from this evening (specifically the hummus, jerusalem salad, and pita pockets).   That should give us some time to hunt down some wine's from the region to pair with our cooking :)
